Unit 5/29 Pound Street, Kingaroy … gathering here is now illegal

October 16, 2013

A humble building in Kingaroy’s Pound Street industrial estate will soon be “off limits” following the passage of the State Government’s anti-bikie legislation last night.

Unit 5, 29 Pound Street has been identified as a clubhouse where gathering will be illegal once the legislation gains Royal Assent.

The Rebels Clubhouse is possibly the worst kept secret in town but it’s no longer “under the radar” following the publication of its address – and that of dozens of other bikie clubhouses in Queensland – in the metropolitan media today.

There are believed to be about a dozen “patched” members of the Rebels in the South Burnett plus a number of associates and nominated members.

Over the past few years, the Rebels have organised tattoo and bike shows in Kingaroy, and also held a regular social “poker run” for members.

Under the new legislation, these activities will now be illegal, as will members meeting together or attending the Pound Street clubhouse.

The penalty, a minimum of six months jail (or up to three years’ jail).
