Potters from all over south-east Queensland will be coming to Kingaroy next month for the Wide Bay Burnett Potters Association’s 38th Annual Convention.
The convention, which will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall on October 26-27, will feature two days of tutorials, demonstrations and lectures by leading Australian tutors:
- Joanne Searle: Printing on Clay – Joanne is a Canberra-based ceramicist. She has a 1st Class Honours degree in Ceramics from the Australian National University, School of Art. Joanne is Associate Lecturer at the ANU Ceramics Workshop
- Lindsay Muir: Stylised Flora and Fauna & Airbrush techniques – Lindsay has a Visual Arts degree in Ceramics from the University of Southern Queensland. He has worked at several potteries including Norfolk Island Pottery, Montville Pottery, Flaxton Gardens Pottery, Green Frog Pottery and managed a pottery in Linconshire, England
- Shirley Wilkins: Dichroic Glass Jewellery – Shirley has tutored with the Flying Arts School, Arts West Qld, and has successfully managed her own pottery business for more than 30 years
- John Marshall: Fantasy Figures and Creatures – John is a potter at North Pine Country Park Potters who specialises in fantasy figures and creatures. John has a Cert III in Visual Art
The cost for the two full days is $75 for WBBPA members or $80 for non- members, which includes morning and afternoon teas and lunch.
