Three bushfires which have been burning for several days in different parts of the South Burnett are being monitored by firefighters but are posing no threat to property.
A fire east of the Old Wondai Road at Charlestown has been burning since September 21.
An Emergency Services spokesperson said today the fire was “partially contained” but one side was burning in inaccessible country. Firefighters were conducting regular patrols and would be monitoring it throughout the week.
A fire on the Cooyar-Mt Binga Road at Mt Binga has been burning since last Wednesday.
This fire is contained and under control and is expected to be handed over to local landholders to monitor later today.
A fire at Benarkin, near the D’Aguilar Highway, started on Friday.
Firefighters are monitoring and patrolling the area. The fire is contained and safe, burning mainly in inaccessible areas.
