It was a big weekend in Kingaroy with the 2013 Ladies Weekend Carnival.

Teams from all over Queensland participated in the two days of Fours competition.

Last weekend Kingaroy Bowlers participated in 2 Bowl Mixed Triples. The weather was warm and playing 31 ends per game made for some very tired bowlers.

The winners of the first game on Saturday backed up in the afternoon for another 31 ends. And then some lucky players came back on Sunday morning for semi-finals, with some lining up again that afternoon.

A Round 1 score of interest on Saturday morning: Des Richards, Val Jepperson, Beryl Woods 31 defeated Charmaine Macleod, Bronwyn Grant, Malcolm Macleod 24.

Round 2 scores: Irene Smith, Alan Irwin, Kerry Smith 45 defeasted Erris Vale, Gladys Slatter, Kev Raffin 18; Bev Sorensen, Peter Neilsen, Richie Patterson, 37 defeated Des Richards, Val Jepperson, Beryl Woods, 19; Maureen Semgreen, Col Kratzmann, Danny Holligan 32 defeated Maree Millard, Paul Marychurch,

What’s been happening in Yarraman:

The Ladies club is getting along with their championship program.

Another game of championship triples was played last Wednesday: Helene Johnson, Bev Profke, Di Currell defeated Lola Harper, Rita Young and Eileen Elliott 21-13.

While that match was on, other players competed for a social trophy.

The winners with the closest winning margin were John Moore, Horst Meyer, Alison Andereson defeating Neil Currell, John Beattie and Eunice Smith 24-10.

Another match of interest: Glenda Wolski, Kay Dugdell, Jenny Moore defeated Gloria Anderson, Ron Lucas, and Margaret Willoughby 29-7.

With the start of Spring, Thursday night bowls have commenced.

Four first timers lined up to play. Winners on the night were Brian Dugdell, Kerry Walsh and Wayne Emms who defeated John Moore, Tom Clarke and Kerry Wyvill 21-13.

Another score of interest featuring the new players: Neil Johnson, Kenny Walsh, Maree Emms defeated Jenny Moore, Marg Clarke and Tim Wyvill 11-6.
