BP Roadhouse at Nanango is now saving more than $1000 a month on their electricity bill after a BIEDO “Clean and Clever Energy” audit.

The service station electricity account was topping $3000 a month.

Owner Wayne Scott said he was very happy with the audit.

“I did an on-site audit and gave Wayne ideas on how he could reduce his energy consumption,” BIEDO Clean and Clever Energy Officer Ross Anderson said.

Implementing those ideas, as well as those he already had in mind, has put Wayne “a step ahead” of the rising electricity tariffs.

“With electricity prices going up by 22 per cent, my bill would have been over $3600 each time,” Wayne said.

Despite some initial outlays, like having LED lighting installed, Wayne is confident the long-term benefits are worth it.

The Roadhouse has also changed the way it uses some equipment, thanks to the personalised recommendations provided by the service.

“Ross had some great ideas,” Wayne said.
