Local farmers have been invited to attend a “Grower’s Technical and Economic Information Day” to be held at the J. Bjelke-Petersen Research facility, opposite Kingaroy Airport, next Wednesday (September 18).
The half-day workshop, to be hosted by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington and State Agriculture Minister John McVeigh, is for growers of peanuts, pulses and cereals or anyone seeking advice on succession planning.
Topics to be covered include:
- Economics of crop production in the Burnett
- Genetics, breeding and varieties
- Environmental challenges
- Management systems
- Value-adding towards new and novel products
- Cutting-edge pulse research at QUT
