Father’s Day dominated the bowls calendar last weekend.
Yarraman played one game of 21 ends on Saturday with thee barbecue lunch providing some great fellowship.
Trophy winners were drawn from cards:
- Skip – John Moore
- Third – Ron Lucas
- Lead – Margaret Willoughby
Runners-up – losers trophy – also drawn from cards (it’s not often that you get a trophy for losing):
- Skip – Neil Currell
- Third – Arthur Smith
- Lead – Jenny Moore
One game of triples was played after the Ladies monthly meeting on Wednesday.
Di Currell, Rita Young, Eunice Smith defeated Neil Currell, Kay Dugdell and Eileen Elliott 12-10.
Three Yarraman teams went to Goomeri on Tuesday for their Clocktown Carnival – two rounds of 21 ends – a lady to skip. No results to hand from Goomeri as yet. Yarraman were involved in a couple of very close games but no winners.
A note here from the Games Director: the John Moore/Ron Lucas trophy day set down for the 15th has been postponed to avoid clashing with the President’s Day at Tansey. There will be a social Day trophy on at Yarraman on the 15th for those not travelling to Tansey.

Kingaroy remembered Father’s Day.
Thirty-two players participated in the Father’s Day Rinks on Saturday giving Dad Sunday off to spend time with the family.
The winners were decided by the highest winning score: Dave Clinker, Ben Pratap, Beryl Woods, Phil Kemp with a score of 26.
Runners-up: Maree Millard, Val Jepperson, Steve Carland, Danny Holligan with a score of 23.
Thursday of last week – Pairs and Triples. Winners decided by closest winning margin. Quite a number of bowlers on the green. The winners were Keith Muller, Des Richards, Beryl Woods. Winning margin 2.
Cheap Tuesday again: Sixteen players participated in the popular pairs social competition on Tuesday. And the winners were: Fred Keding, Darren Porter, 25 defeated Darcy Munro, Maureen Semgreen 12
Other scores worth mentioning: Dave Barwick, Col Kratzmann 19 defeated Peter Neilsen, Erris Vale 6; Kev Raffin, Alan Irwin 22 defeated Maree Millard, Bob Robinson 15; Lindy Clutterbuck, Pat Goodwin 19 defeated John Goodwin, Geoff Clutterbuck 10.
