The South Burnett’s boutique “fine food” industry has received a boost with a Gold Medal win by Bunya Red Farm at the prestigious Sydney Royal Fine Food Show.
The Inverlaw-based farming couple of Allan and Mandy Evans learned on Monday they had won the award for their “Capers In Salt” which was awarded Gold in the Regional Food Competition (Class 33).
There were only 10 gold medals awarded across the 37 Classes – and 430 entries – which makes the win by Bunya Red Farm even more special.
And it’s the first time the Evans have shown any of their produce.
The Sydney Royal Fine Food Show consists of 11 competitions, held in February (Summer) and September (Spring).
Established in 2003, the Regional Food Competition was created to feature unique regional products from around Australia. The September competition is held every year as part of the Spring Fine Food Show.
