Ever wondered how wine is made?
If you have, then Tipperary Estate will be happy to take you through the entire process – from growing grapes in a vineyard through to learning what to look for when you taste and buy wines – during the South Burnett-Cherbourg On Show long weekend.
Tipperary Estate is a specialist boutique winery which grows verdelho, chardonnay, shiraz and viognier grapes in its vineyards.
The Grape To Glass tour begins with a morning tea, and then visitors get taken through the vineyards to discuss the process of growing and cultivating wine grapes (not as simple or as obvious as it might look!) and the annual “vintage cycle” that governs the operations of wine grape vineyards around the world.
Then it’s back to Tipperary Estate’s cellar door for an enlightening wine tasting experience where visitors can get to compare and contrast different Tipperary Estate wines; get introduced to the 20-point wine judging process; and learn how to identify the unique characteristics of different grape varieties and wine making styles.
These popular tours provide an instant “boot camp” for anyone who wants to learn more about wines in a relaxed and informal way.
They also provide a “hands-on” experience that books or courses can never duplicate.
The Moffatdale vineyard will be running two Grape to Glass Morning Tea Tours on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday October 6th at 10:00am on both days.
Tickets for either tour – which include morning tea and all wine tastings – are $12 per head, and need to be booked by 4:00pm on Friday 4th October.
You can make a booking by phoning Tipperary Estate on (0418) 720-153 or by emailing them.
