Here’s a round-up of what’s happening at Graham House Community Centre in Murgon:

  • Broadband for Seniors Kiosk
Great news! The Graham House Broadband for Seniors Kiosk has been re-funded until 2015! So seniors, now is the time to take up the technology challenge and learn how easy it is to Skype, surf the net, use Google maps andGgoogle earth. Create an email account and maintain closer contact with family and friends and keep up to date with grandchildren and their activities.
  • Graham House Community Kitchen
Kitchen members meet at the Graham House Taylor Street office every Monday morning during the school semester where they catch up over a cup of coffee and plan the menu for the day. he delightful aromas that waft through the office on Monday mornings tease the taste buds of the most hardened dieters! So come along, enjoy the company and a healthy meal and discover your inner chef.
  • Graham House Spinners and Weavers
Join the group as they spin and weave and create masterful and original creations. Members meet at the Graham House Hall in Pearen Street, Murgon every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. New members are very welcome.
  • School Holiday Activity Program
Mums, wondering how to keep the kids entertained over the school holidays? Why not telephone the Graham House Family Support Worker about the ‘Good Times Holiday Activity Program’ which is open to school age children. A variety of interesting activities have been planned for the September break. The ‘Good Times Holiday Activity Program’ will be run on September 23-25 starting at 1:00pm and concluding at 4:00pm.
  • No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS)
Graham House Community Centre is proud to offer the NILS Scheme which is a community-based program offering applicants on a low income no interest loans to the value of up to $1200 for essential household goods and services. Applicants must be in receipt of a current concession card. Repayments are made in affordable amounts for a period of between 12 and 18 months. With manageable repayments and a respectful assessment process conducted by community providers, NILS works through a process of circular community credit; when a borrower makes a repayment to a NILS program, funds are then available as a loan for someone else in the community.
  • Volunteers Needed
Would you like to be part of a busy, productive team working with the community? Graham House is seeking administration volunteers to assist in their offices at Taylor Street and Macalister Street, Murgon.
