Voters who cannot make it to a polling booth for the September 7 Federal Election may be eligible to cast an “early vote” from today.

Residents in Maranoa electorate can now pre-poll vote in Kingaroy or Nanango at:

  • Kingaroy Council Chambers, 45 Glendon Street

August 26 – August 30, 9:30am-4:30pm
September 2 – September 6, 9:30am-4:30pm

  • Nanango QGAP Office, 30 Henry Street

August 26 – August 29, 8:30am-1:00pm; 2:00pm-4:30pm
September 3 – September 6, 8:30am-1:00pm; 2:00pm-4:30pm

Maranoa residents who cannot make it to either of these locations, or voters in Flynn and Wide Bay, may be eligible for a postal vote.

Residents can vote early or vote by post if on election day they will be

  • Outside the electorate where you they are enrolled to vote
  • More than 8km from a polling place
  • Travelling
  • Unable to leave workplace to vote
  • Seriously ill, infirm or due to give birth shortly (or caring for someone who is)
  • A patient in hospital and can’t vote at the hospital
  • Religious beliefs that prevent them from attending a polling place
  • Are in prison serving a sentence of less than three years or otherwise detained
  • A silent elector
  • Have a reasonable fear for your safety.
