Men don’t usually talk about their health … it’s apparently “a bloke thing”.
That’s why a new men’s health roadshow which is coming to the South Burnett next month is called It’s A Bloke Thing.
The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and Darling Downs South West Queensland Medicare Local have joined forces to bring the roadshow to Kingaroy on August 28.
It will be held at the Sunshine Mitre 10 complex in Rogers Drive.
The free information session will cover the top health issues facing men today, ie cardiovascular disease, prostate cancer, diabetes, smoking and mental health.
A beer and barbecue will be on offer and guys will also get to meet former NRL and Origin player Colin Scott.
Scott played played for the Maroons from 1979 to 1987 and was also part of the Broncos’ squad in 1988.
The session will run from 6:00pm–7:45pm.
By filling in an evaluation form at the end of the night, participants will go into the draw to win a signed jersey, which will be announced at the end of the roadshow.
