The South Burnett Saints were beaten but not disgraced in their away match against Dalby on Saturday.
The final score was 17.14 (116) to 15.8 (98).
The Saints were again strong in the latter parts of the match, outgoaling Dalby in both the third and fourth quarters.
At half-time, Dalby were ahead 11.8 (74) to 7.4 (46).
Goal kickers for South Burnett were Ty Snow 4, Paul Pressnell 2, Keiran Snow 2, Alexander Totton, Jeffrey Trezise, Adam Branch, Matthew Eckermann, Simon Rechner, Adam Bowater and Jordan Pressnell.
Best players were Keiran Snow, Lucas Walsh, Adam Bowater, Simon Rechner, Daniel Trace and Braeden Snow.
The Saints will be on the road again next Saturday, coming up against South Toowoomba at Rockville Oval in Wilsonton.
The last time the sides met, in Round 5 in Kingaroy, the Bombers demolished the home side 26.16 (172) to 5.11 (41).

The Saints will be hosting a Heritage Day at Lyle Vidler Oval on July 20.
Past and present South Burnett Australian Rules players (ie Dogs, Jets and Saints), committee members, volunteers and supporters have been invited to join in a day of “sharing on-the-field and off-the-field memories” .
The day will be held in conjunction with a home game against Warwick: (juniors – U8s, U10s, U12s, U14s) and seniors.
There will be food (after-game nibbles), a heritage corner, photo book and live music by Stunt Pig.
