Former Kingaroy State High School student Chris Ostwald has been selected to play for Queensland in the U18 State of Origin curtainraiser at Suncorp Stadium on June 26.
Chris has been labelled one of the best up-and-coming rugby league players in Queensland but he is also an all-round sportsman,
He was the 2012 Pierre de Coubertin award winner at KSHS and also represented the school and the South Burnett at athletics.
He played touch for KSHS, South Burnett and Wide Bay and won the 2012 KSHS Best & Fairest award for rugby league.
He has played representative played league for the South Burnett and captained the Wide Bay open boys’ team.
Ostwald was also named the 2012 U18 Player of the Year in the Bundaberg competition while playing for Kingaroy Red Ants.
Currently he is contracted with the Broncos U20s squad.
