More than $215,000 has been allocated to South Burnett community groups under the latest rounds of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and Jupiter’s Casino Community Benefit Fund.

Successful applicants were:

  • Goomeri and District Show Society – construct cattle ramp and repair yards – $35,000
  • Kilkivan State School – Install air conditioning units – $31,749
  • Kumbia Hack and Pony Club – to extend the shed and upgrade fencing – $15,576.50
  • Manumbar Campdraft and Hall – to purchase portable grandstands and shade – $32,210
  • Murgon SES Support Group – Purchase mobile LED lighting towers – $21,330
  • Nanango Show Society – install a solar system – $27,754.55
  • QCWA Kumbia Branch – to upgrade their building – $21,272.72
  • Queensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network – to help conduct the 20th Anniversary Conference – $8920
  • Tableland Public Hall Association – to install solar system – $12,500
  • Wondai Woodworkers Inc – Install disability access door – $9463

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said the recipients illustrated the variety of valuable work not-for-profit organisations contributed to the wider community.

“It is fantastic to be able to support them financially. Our local area and residents benefit greatly from these organisations and I am pleased through these grants that they can continue to do their valuable work,” she said.

She said the grants were not intended to replace existing sources of support.
