Petero Civoniceva training with the Maroons in 2009

The dates have been confirmed for the visit by former State of Origin rugby league player Petero Civoniceva to the South Burnett.

The South Burnett Junior Rugby League said today Petero would be visiting schools from Blackbutt to Goomeri between July 24 and September 2.

Proposed Itinerary

  • Wednesday, July 24 – Blackbutt SS, Yarraman P-10 and Nanango SS, and St Patrick’s Catholic School, Nanango
  • Thursday, July 25 – Nanango SHS, Taabinga SS, Kingaroy SHS, Kingaroy Red Ants Club
  • Friday, July 26 – Kingaroy SS, Wondai SS, Murgon SHS, Murgon Sports Ground
  • Monday, September 2 – Goomeri SS, Murgon SS, Cherbourg SS

The former Queensland State of Origin prop forward also played for Australia between 2001 and 2011.

In club football, he played for the Broncos between 1998-2007 and returned in 2012 after a stint as captain with Penrith.

In 2009 he broke the record for most international matches for Australia of any forward.
