A 54-year-old woman was remanded in custody when she appeared in Murgon Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with attempted murder.
Police will allege Kay Te Atarangi Lyons, of Wattle Camp, struck her husband David Lawrence Lyons, 67, on the head with a hammer.
Lyons made no application for bail and was remanded to reappear on June 20.
Mr Lyons is in the PA Hospital in Brisbane in a serious condition.
