The South Burnett’s new economic and tourism development body, South Burnett Directions, will be officially launched next Tuesday (June 11).

“The feedback from businesses in the community has been that they strongly support the development of South Burnett Directions, which will be a project based committee to steer economic development throughout the South Burnett,” Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.

“Tuesday evening is an opportunity for all businesses and organisations throughout the South Burnett to come together to celebrate the launch of this peak body.”

Local Government Minister David Crisafulli will officially open the event at 6:30pm in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt.

“The South Burnett Directions Steering Committee has met twice already and are about to finalise three or four key projects to drive economic development in the region. One of these projects is likely to be a ‘Think Local First’ campaign,” Mayor Kratzmann said.

“We collected project ideas from the community consultations sessions. The committee will be responsible for prioritising projects and decide upon which they believe will best support economic development in the region.”
