The Kumbia Race Club will be holding its new Mid-Year Race Meeting at the Kumbia racecourse off the Kumbia-Brooklands Road on Saturday.
The extra meeting date was granted to the club by Queensland Premier Campbell Newman when he attended the club’s Melbourne Cup Day Race Meeting last November.
As usual, the trackside will be dotted with tents and picnicers enjoying the relaxed country racing atmosphere, and the meeting will have a licensed bar, BBQ, and the Luncheon Hall in operation, along with full Sky-TV race meeting coverage and a vigorous betting ring.
There’ll also be a Winter Fashions Of The Field competition for ladies and youth categories, along with free children’s face painting, a jumping castle and other entertainment.
Gates will open around 11:00am and the first race of this five-race meeting will leave the barriers at 1:05pm.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for concessions.
A bus will be running to the track from Kingaroy’s Carrollee Hotel. You can book a seat by phoning the hotel on (07) 4162-1055.
