The Kingaroy Golf Club was well-represented at the recent Queensland Veterans State Championships at the Woodford Golf Club, with 9 players attending.

The State Championship for women was won by local golfer Jane Franklin.

In challenging wet conditions, Jane had gross scores of 83 and 84 to win by two strokes from last year’s winner, Ruth Yelland from Cairns.

Jane and Kingaroy golfers Aileen Bartlett and Col Harch also won close approaches in the tournament.

The South Burnett has an active Veteran Golfers Assosciation which plays each Tuesday at a different local course.

For a modest cost, golfers enjoy exercise, friendship and – of course – some great golf!

You can obtain more information about the Veteran Golfers Association by phoning President R. Howard on (07) 4169-0292, or Secretary S. Clifford on (07) 4169-0903.
