Independent Kingaroy radio station K-FM 96.3FM has been given the opportunity of receiving six months support to develop a digital marketing strategy.
K-FM was selected to receive the support, from Edge Marketing Solutions at Hervey Bay, after taking part in “Grow Your Business Online” workshops organised by the Wide Bay Burnett Regional Organisation of Councils (WBBROC) last year.
South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said he was excited to see K-FM “embrace the digital future and prepare their business to be more viable and take advantage of all that the digital economy has to offer”.
“Following the Grow Your Business Online workshops organized by WBBROC and held across the region in late 2012, small to medium sized enterprises are now better placed to compete and thrive in the rapidly evolving digital economy,” Cr Kratzmann said.
WBBROC consists of the six Councils in the Wide Bay Burnett region: Gympie, North Burnett, South Burnett, Fraser Coast, Cherbourg, and Bundaberg.
K-FM was randomly selected from all participants who attended the three Grow Your Business Online workshops.
It will be supported for six months to develop and implement a customised digital marketing strategy.
“This will enable them to embrace digital marketing and become recognised for their success as part of the digital economy,” Cr Kratzmann said.
“This Digital Champions project represents a small step towards the support WBBROC has, and will continue to provide, to small to medium enterprises to become digitally ready. The marketplace has become global and if businesses embrace the changing way of doing business they will increase their competitiveness.”
