Nanango residents turned out in force to mark Anzac Day at the town’s two traditional commemoration events today: the Dawn Service and the morning parade to the Nanango War Memorial.
Cadets from Nanango’s 123 Australian Cadet Unit (“Charlie Company”) acted as flag bearers and formed the Catafalque Party at both services.
The march along Drayton Street to the Memorial featured children from local schools as well as a strong contingent of returned servicemen.
Residents lined the street to watch the marchers go by.
At the Cenotaph, wreaths were laid by local groups.
The Nanango State School Choir also sang the national anthems of New Zealand and Australia to acknowledge the Anzac tradition.
