Nanango Show Society is looking forward to a bumper 104th annual show on Saturday with top quality exhibits and forecasters tipping fine weather.
The quality of exhibits is high, and any early concerns that the Australia Day floods may have had an impact on this year’s show seem to have evaporated.
Friday’s events were a warm-up for the show’s main day on Saturday. They included Day 1 of the popular All Breeds Championship Dog Show, a Ute Muster, Young Judges and Young Handlers competitions, and the judging of pavilion entries.
On Saturday, the Show Society will pull out all stops to entertain the thousands of visitors expected to flow through the gates which will open at 7:00am.
There’ll be post-ripping and woodchopping competitions, ring events, an alpaca show, dairy goats, wood sculpting and a big sideshow alley.
One of the highlights this year is sure to be the daredevil motorcycle acrobatic team, FMX Kaos
The Grand Parade will be held at 1:30pm, and the rodeo will get underway at 3:00pm.
A full night of live entertainment will kick off about 6:00pm and run until midnight. The giant fireworks display is scheduled for 8:00pm.
Admission to this year’s Nanango Show is $12 for adults and $6 for pension card holders, children over 14 and unaccompanied children. Children under 14, accompanied by a paying adult, will be admitted for free.
