Wondai Art Gallery will be featuring a travelling exhibition, “Eclecticism”, in May.
It borrows and combines a variety of styles from different sources and has been inspired by a workshop last year in curating by Bettina MacAulay which was attended by Wondai gallery’s Elaine Madill and local artist Robyn Dower.
This exhibition commenced at Gympie Regional Art Gallery before travelling on to Hervey Bay. Its final destination is Wondai.
Acrylic artist Terry Readman will be featured in the front gallery. Terry has previously successfully exhibited at the gallery.
In the third gallery, there’ll be some “fantastic fakes” by Jan Lewis.
Jan has been entering the National Fabulous Fakes Competition for many years and is exhibiting some of her prize-winning entries.
She’ll be displaying art copied from Renoir, Rubens, Tom Roberts, Julian Ashton, Louie Buvelot, William Dobell and Willem Van Aiest.
Wondai Kindergarten is featured in Kidz Corner.
The opening night will be held from 6:00pm on Friday, May 3. The $5.00 entry includes hot and cold supper and punch. Wine will be served by Moffatdale Ridge.
The exhibitions will remain in the gallery throughout May.
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm, seven days a week. Entry is free.
