Former Kingaroy residents Kevin and Lindy Horton are shocked their son Tod could have been killed or maimed in this morning’s terrorist attack in Boston.
Tod was competing in the prestigious Boston Marathon but had safely completed the race when the bombs exploded, killing three and injuring more than 130 people.
His wife Sue was watching the race from the sidelines.
Both are now safely back in their hotel, much to Kevin and Lindy’s relief.
Lindy is a four-time past president of the Quota Club of Kingaroy, from 1998-99 and 2003-04, and regularly returns to the region for Quota functions.
Tod is the brother of Sydney Morning Herald journalist Shelly Horton.
