A flood recovery barbecue at Booubyjan Hall – originally set down for March 1 but delayed by, you guessed it, the weather – has been rescheduled for this Friday (April 19).

The barbecue will provide information on financial assistance and how to apply, registering for BlazeAid assistance, and where to get additional help for things such as counselling and land recovery.

The barbecue will have representatives on hand from the Queensland Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), QRAA, farm financial counsellors, Centrelink, BlazeAid, Gympie Regional Council, the South Burnett Regional Council, Centacare South Burnett, BIEDO, the Burnett Mary Regional Group and counselling and pastoral care.

Guests will be able to book one-on-one appointments from 10:00am.

Information sessions will start at 12:30pm and be followed by a free barbecue at 3:00pm.

The event is being sponsored by Landcare South Burnett, HelpQldFarmers.com.au and BGA Agriservices.

To help plan catering, RSVPs are necessary. Phone the Lawless family on (07) 4168-6262.
