The 2013 South Burnett Relay For Life fund-raising campaign for the Cancer Council was officially launched on Saturday morning in Kingaroy.

Relay volunteers joined with event patron Carl Rackemann for a sausage sizzle at the Town Hall forecourt in Glendon Street.

It was an opportunity for individuals or teams to register for this year’s relay, which will be held from 3:00pm on Saturday, October 12, to 9:00am on Sunday, October 13 at Kingaroy Showgrounds.

The 2013 “Face of the Relay” – a cancer survivor who has volunteered to assist with promoting the annual fundraising event – will be officially named at the Mayor’s Charity Brunch which will be held on May 19 at Dusty Hill in Moffatdale.

Profits from this event will be going to support the Relay.

People interested in registering a team or joining an existing team should contact Rowena Dionysius on 0418-922-572 for more information.
