The State Government is seeking feedback on a discussion paper aimed at improving educational outcomes for indigenous Queenslanders.

The cut-off date for submissions is April 30.

Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek said the discussion paper invited contributions into the development of a new Queensland Indigenous education action plan, which is due for release mid-year.

“I encourage anyone interested in improving outcomes for young Indigenous Queenslanders to read the discussion paper and submit their ideas,” he said.

“The new action plan will cover the full spectrum of early childhood education and care, school education, training, tertiary education and employment.

“We want to build an educational pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Queensland, so they are supported from ‘crayon to career’.”

The discussion paper is organised around four key priorities: engagement and partnerships, high quality and responsive services, successful transitions and workforce and leadership capacity.
