A Federal Government grants program to assist the tourism industry has opened for applications and Federal Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss is urging South Burnett businesses to apply.
“Local hotels, restaurants and cafes and tour operators in the South Burnett rely on tourism to provide jobs, so it is important that the Federal Government plays its part to assist the industry’s growth and sustainability, especially in these tough economic times,” he said.
The grants provide matched funding on a dollar-for-dollar basis for amounts between $15,000 and $100,000 (GST exclusive) for projects from small businesses, councils and community organisations.
Further information is available by telephoning (02) 6243-7604, from the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism website or by email .
Applications for funding close on May 3, 2013.
