The winners of the latest round of the South Burnett Regional Council’s popular RADF arts program were announced at today’s council meeting.
The Arts, Culture & Heritage Management Advisory Committee also announced that there would also be a fourth round of RADF funding offered this year.
The winning grants in Round 3 were:
- $14,320 to Kingaroy State High School take part in “Creative Generation – State Schools On Stage“,
- $1885 to the Murgon Art Group two run a two-part art course by Don Milner,
- $1600 to the South Burnett Regional Council to host a “South Burnett Through Video” course which will teach residents how to shoot video with their mobile phones.
Councillors were told that 38 Kingaroy State High School students were participating in Creative Generation this year, and 10 of those students have been selected to be part of a special choir.
All the students and their parents will have to make many trips to Brisbane over the coming months for rehearsals.
“This is a major commitment by everyone involved, and the RADF grant will help defray the costs involved in this program,” Cr Dalton said.
The Murgon Art Group’s two art workshops will follow a similar activity run by Don Milner in Kingaroy in January.
Round 4 of the RADF grants program will open on March 25 and close on April 19.
