Farms on all sides of Murgon were devastated by 2013’s trio of floods but the disasters couldn’t stop the annual Murgon Show going ahead on Saturday.
Crowd numbers, however, appeared to be down during the hottest part of the day and farm produce entries in the pavilion competitions also seemed to be thin.
But a large photographic exhibition attracted a lot of attention as did Bubble Muffin, a fun cooking show especially for 5 to 12-year-olds brought up from Victoria.
The show was officially opened by former Murgon Mayor Bill Roberts.
The evening’s entertainment featured a Bull and Bronc Rodeo, which is always popular with spectators.
This National Rodeo Association event included bull rides, saddle rides and bareback rides as well as a barrel race competition and novice and junior events.
