The Endeavour Foundation officially opened its newly expanded commercial kitchen with a special morning tea last Thursday.

Thanks to a grant from Stanwell Corporation’s Tarong Community Partnership Fund, Endeavour was able to purchase three new ovens, freezers, stoves, extraction fans and walk-in cold rooms for its Kingaroy Kitchen complex in Kingaroy Street.

Kingaroy Kitchen produces the “Fine Foods” line of products which helps provide employment for 28 people with disabilities.

The new equipment will not only help ramp up production but also help the kitchen meet its contract to supply meals for workers on the Meandu dragline shutdown.

The morning tea was held to mark Stanwell’s grant contribution and also acknowledge other local organisations and business owners who have made donations.

The function was attended by Endeavour staff and employees, Stanwell representatives and guests.

South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann was impressed by the extensions and congratulated everyone who had made them possible.

The Endeavour Foundation is one of Australia’s largest non-government providers of services for people with a disability.
