Murgon Mustangs will be back in 2013

February 7, 2013

Col Pidgeon from the Murgon Mustangs confirmed today there will definitely be an A Grade Murgon side in this year’s South Burnett Rugby League competition.

Last month Col said the club had “pulled the pin” on A Grade and he couldn’t see the Mustangs fielding an A Grade team for the foreseeable future.

But he said today the players had come to see him and everyone had sat down and “had a good talk”.

“They realised I was fair dinkum, and they’ve agreed to my terms,” Col said.

“We’ll have a team now, no question about it.”

Their first training session was held on Tuesday and they’ll be backing up again this evening.

It also looks likely that Nanango will be fielding an A Grade team with a good turnout of players at the Stags’ sign-on day last Sunday.

Nanango’s training also began on Tuesday.

The draw for the 2013 competition is yet to be finalised.

UPDATE March 11, 2013:  The on-again, off-again tale of the Mustangs A Grade side has taken another twist. After a poor roll-up at training, the pin has again been pulled on the A Grade team.
