South Burnett Regional Council in partnership with Wondai Swimming Pool will be conducting an Adult Water Fitness and Water Confidence Program during Term 1 of the school year.

The program is part of Council’s Healthy Communities Initiative and South Burnett residents will be able to get active in the pool for the cost of a gold coin.

“Swimming Coach Adam Stephenson will be helping those of all fitness levels get active in the pool,” Healthy Communities Coordinator Kerry Oldfield said.

“The program aims to work with those of all abilities, from the expert swimmer to the first-time swimmer. Adam will work with you at your level of ability to make the pool a safe and fun environment to get physically active.”

Using the pool enables those with injuries, joint problems or mobility issues to experience a moderate intensity workout without impacting on those problem areas.

The sessions will run every Friday from 10.00am to 11.00am at the Wondai Pool on Mackenzie Street.

The first session will be on Friday, February 1.

Participants should bring along their swimming costumes, towel, sun protection and medication (if applicable).
