Extra fire crews have been called this afternoon to a large bushfire burning near Nangur Road at Cobbs Hill, north of Murgon, as winds whip up spot fires.
The fire, one of many in the area which was sparked by lightning last Thursday night, is burning in remote country and no structures are threatened.
An Emergency Services spokesman said a bulldozer was used to strengthen containment lines this morning and backburning was continuing.
At 5:00pm there were eight fire crews on site with more en route.
Nearby landholders are assisting firefighters.
