December 20, 2012
The Emergency Water Restrictions that are currently in place in Proston will be lifted on Christmas Eve (December 24).
South Burnett Regional Council imposed the temporary emergency water restrictions for the Proston town area on December 17.
The restrictions were required because the Proston Water Treatment Plant experienced a severe breakdown to a part of the infrastructure that treats water for the town supply.
Council requested that water use be restricted to internal use and essential external use only, such as cleaning of windscreens, pet enclosures or emergency purposes.
Watering of gardens and lawns is not permitted.
A notice will be delivered to all residents to advise when restrictions are no longer in force.
