The South Burnett has the opportunity of securing a spot in the Goodchild Shield final when it takes on Gympie at Lyle Vidler Oval on Sunday.
So far during this year’s campaign, the South Burnett XI easily defeated Fraser Coast at Maryborough but then went down to Bundaberg at Bundaberg.
In comparison, Gympie thrashed Bundaberg in the opening round before losing to Fraser Coast by 69 runs.
The winner of Sunday’s sudden-death game will advance to the grand final which will be played on February 3.
The second spot in the final will be filled by the winner of the Bundaberg/Fraser Coast match.
