Heritage Nanango Community Funding has come to the aid of the Nanango Childcare Centre in Drayton Street, providing $20,000 funding for the the construction of a new sandpit, landscaping and shade sail at the centre.
Nanango Childcare Centre is a not-for-profit centre operated by South Burnett CTC.
CTC bought the centre in December 2011 as a way of addressing the ongoing shortage of quality care places in Nanango.
However the building required renovations and a new external play area had to be created.
The grant from Heritage has enabled a new sandpit – which had to meet tough government regulations – and other renovations at the centre to become a reality.
Heritage Nanango Community Branch director Graham Archdall said Heritage Nanango Community Funding liked to support community organisations such as South Burnett CTC.
“They do a lot of good in the community,” he said.
“They’ve taken over this centre and have done the necessary improvements. We’re happy to help!
“But we can only do this sort of thing if the community backs our branch. It’s the community support that allows us to do it.”
CTC Corporate Services Support Officer Kirstie Schumacher said CTC were very grateful for the generous support by Heritage.
