A $1.2 million project to upgrade a section of Henry Street in Nanango has begun.
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said the work, between Appin Street and Elk Street, included replacing the existing road surface to provide motorists with safer and smoother travelling conditions.
The majority of work will be carried out between 6:00pm and 6:00am.
Traffic management measures, including speed restrictions and lane closures, will be in place for the duration of the work.
“I urge all motorists to drive to the changed traffic conditions and obey all signage and traffic controllers’ directions,” Mrs Frecklington said.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all motorists in advance for their co-operation and patience while works are underway.”
Pensar Civil Pty Ltd will undertake the works on behalf of Transport and Main Roads.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.
