Today was the last opportunity for South Burnett residents to sign the “Thank You” banners

November 16, 2012

The “Truckload of Thanks” tour that has been winding its way through the South Burnett held its last pitstop today at Blackbutt, outside the Council offices in Hart Street.

The tour, a highlight of SES Week, has provided local residents with an opportunity to personally thank the many SES volunteers who worked so hard during last year’s floods.

Like all the other pitstops this week, the free Disaster Ready kits proved popular … but so were the free snags at the sausage sizzle.

CROW-FM also broadcast their Breakfast Show live from Hart Street.

South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann spoke at this morning’s event, personally thanking the SES volunteers for all their hard work.

Blackbutt residents were able to sign two large “Thank You” banners, which will now accompany the Truckload of Thanks convoy when it leaves Murgon at 6:00am tomorrow to travel to Emergency Services Queensland headquarters in Kedron.

Volunteers from Booubyjan and Kilkivan SES groups will be joining the convoy as its passes on its way via Gympie.
