2012 School Captain Sarah Jensen was named the Paul Wilding Shield School Dux at Murgon State High School’s 54th annual speech night.

In a big night for Sarah, she also won Academic Awards for Biological Science, Chemistry, English, Geography and Hospitality Studies, as well the Tamara Wolter Shield Citizenship Award, the Lions Excellence in Public Speaking award, a Long Tan Leadership award, a Merit Award and the girl’s Soccer Champion award.

Her fellow School Captain, Jesse Paech, won the Gwen Kay Memorial Award for Instrumental Music, the Coombes Family Award for Academic Excellence in the Sciences as well as Academic Awards in Mathematics B, Physics and Music, and a Merit Award.

Other Year 12 Merit Award winners were Casey Rynne, Jessica Rynne and Regina Sloper.

Other Year 12 Academic Awards were presented to Kristy Czerniec, Raymond Dorse, Kieran Thompson, Regina Sloper, Cassandra Pratt, Suzannah Mileham, Casey Rynne, Joel Sommerfeld and Jacinta Bligh.

Awards for Academic Excellence were presented to Rebekah Kapernick (Year 8), Rebecca Rynne (Year 9), Tina-Maree Euler (Year 11) and Junior Dux Caitlin Kapernick (Year 10).

Sportsman of the Year was Zac Williams and Sportswoman Rebecca Rynne.
