Day 2 of the “Truckload of Thanks” tour – which is acknowledging the fantastic efforts of SES volunteers – saw a convoy of SES vehicles and crews roll into Wondai this morning.
A free sausage sizzle was held outside the South Burnett Timber Industry Museum and a good crowd turned up to chat and sign the “thank you” banners.
These banners are accompanying the “Truckload of Thanks” tour and will eventually make their way down to the Emergency Services Complex at Kedron, the headquarters of the SES.
So many signatures were placed on the banner yesterday, that already one banner is completely full.
The “Disaster” bags again proved popular with visitors, as did the South Burnett’s now famous “Mongrel the Musical Tractor” (the recent star of Tractor Tattoo) which is also accompanying the Truckload of Thanks tour around the region.
Tomorrow the tour will continue in Kingaroy at the Glendon Street Forecourt between 7:30am and 9:30am.
There’ll be another free community sausage sizzle, a talk by South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann and more free Disaster kits will be handed out.
CROW-FM 90.7 will also be broadcasting live on site.
NB. Wednesday has also been officially designated as “Wear Orange To Work Wednesday”, so if you’d like to show your support for the South Burnett’s SES men and women, try to wear something orange tomorrow to work to show it.
