A weekend off from Queensland Fire duties saw Holly Ferling turn out for Kingaroy RSL

Nanango Scorpions were too good for a depleted Kingaroy RSL side during their A Grade match at Nanango Sportsgounds on Saturday.

Kingaroy were down several players because of a wedding – and Mud, Bulls and Music – but their bowling ranks were strengthened by the return of Holly Ferling who had a rare week off from duties with the Queensland Fire.

Nanango won the toss and batted first, They were all out for 203.

Top scorer was captain Freddy Davies who led by example, scoring 91 n/o. Phil Reddan kocked out 27.

Best of the Kingaroy bowlers were Darren Geiger, 3/17 off eight overs, and Holly Ferling, 2/48 off nine overs.

Kingaroy RSL needed 204 in reply, but fell short … all out for 194.

Best of the Kingaroy batsmen were David Hosking (91) and Brady Roberts (28).

Stephen Kirkland was the best of the Scorpion bowlers, taking 3/39 off eight overs; Jon Alexander took 2/19 off  seven overs

In the other A Grade match, the Warriors ran out 44-run victors over Murgon Crusaders at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.

Warriors batted first and managed 9/149. Top scorers were Mitch Bunker (36), Steve Heness (24 n/o) and Dan O’Connor (24).

Best of the Murgon bowlers were James McUtchen, 3/21 off nine overs, and Andrew Roderick, 3/22 off nine overs.

In reply, Crusaders  were all out for 105 in the 25th over. Top scorers were Lucas Sander (25) and Lehman Brunjes (22).

The Wondai Wolves faced the Warriors in a B Grade match at Wondai Sportsgrounds.

Warriors batted first and were all out for 144 after 37 overs.

Top scorers were J Maxwell (28), Haydon Wieck (23) and Peter Sorensen (20).

Best of the Wondai bowlers were Chris Bodey, 4/7 off six overs; James Cameron 2/29 off five overs; and Kiall Rowberry, 2/32 off seven overs.

In reply, the Wondai Wolves chased down the runs in just 19 overs, with the loss of two wickets. James Cameron (58 n/o) and Geoff Wallis (56) were the top scorers.

Warrior bowlers Ian Haack, 1/29 off four overs, and Allan Christiansen, 1/ 34 off six overs, took the wickets.

Wolves won by eight wickets.
