Wondai golfer Chris Bodey set a new course record at the Kilkivan Men’s Golf Carnival on Sunday.
Bodey carded six birdies and a bogey to record a five under Par 63, eclipsing the previous mark by two shots.
He won the South Burnett Sand Green Championship, defending his title from 2011.
Bodey is Men’s President of the Wondai Golf Club and Director Of Golf for the Sunshine Coast and South Burnett District Golf Association.
The Kilkivan carnival, which attracted 39 golfers despite hot conditions, also saw Goomeri golfer Garth Slaughter equal the old course record with his own three under Par 65.
The Division 1 nett trophy was won by Gavin Jensen from Gympie with 58 nett.
In Division 2, Goomeri golfer Nev Holden – a 29 marker – shot a great round of 79 to win the gross while Alan Penhaligon from Wondai won the nett event with 57 nett.
Ken Mills Toyota sponsored the sarnival, which is a popular part of the South Burnett’s annual golfing calendar.
