Kingaroy teenager Holly Ferling will make her debut tomorrow with the Queensland Fire when they take on South Australia in a T20 cricket match at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
The 16-year-old fast bowler, who helped Kingaroy RSL to their South Burnett competition win last season, has had an exciting 12 months.
In March, she was selected for the Australian Under 21 women’s side that toured New Zealand.
In April, she made history by becoming the first woman to win the Ken Mackay Trophy for Queensland Junior Cricketer of the Year.
In August, she was invited to join a training camp in Sri Lanka with Australia’s national women’s cricket team, the Southern Stars.
The Fire will also be playing a 50-over match against South Australia on Saturday followed by another T20 match on Sunday.
They will be captained by Jodie Fields,fresh from leading the Australian women’s side to a World Twenty20 championship victory in Sri Lanka last weekend.
