Gympie Regional Council is seeking to establish a Weeds and Pest Advisory Committee with membership drawn from government agencies, environmental managers, primary production businesses and industries within the Gympie region.

The committee is intended to represent a cross-section of the community and to provide constructive feedback and advice to Council on matters related to local and regional weed and pest management issues.

The Council is inviting expressions of interest from individuals with

  • Demonstrated understanding of principles and practices of weed and pest management; and/or
  • Knowledge and experience in natural resource management and/or primary production industry sectors; and/or
  • Appreciation and understanding of business and industry issues and opportunities; and/or
  • Demonstrated capacity to critically evaluate and advise on the regional and national weed and pest issues.

The closing date for expressions of interest is Tuesday, October 9.
