Residents in the South Burnett are being encouraged to stop for a coffee and chat on Thursday to support the health, safety and well-being of the community.
The South Burnett Suicide Prevention Working Group is promoting RU OK? Day, a national campaign which aims to encourage people to connect with colleagues, friends and loved ones by reaching out to anyone doing it tough.
There will be a free community breakfast held outside Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington’s office in Kingaroy between 6:00am and 9:00am (this is located in the small laneway that runs between Cartmill Travel and the Asian Gourmet Chinese Restaurant in Alford Street).
Guest speakers will address a range of topics relating directly and indirectly to the issues of suicide and the help that is available in the South Burnett.
If this time doesn’t suit, or you live outside Kingaroy, why not take a break before or after work, grab a coffee and make contact with a loved one or a work colleague who may be struggling?
Selected coffee shops and other venues throughout in the South Burnett will be providing free cups of coffee to support the day (more than 600 free cups of coffee will be given out in the South Burnett on Thursday):
