Kingaroy Library recently hosted a morning tea to celebrate National Family History Week and to raise awareness of family history research options available both within the library system and the local community.
Guest Speaker was Dr Judith Grimes who has a wealth of experience in researching both family and local history. Dr Grimes has written a number of books including the histories of Nanango Shire and Kingaroy State School.
A library spokesman said the South Burnett Libraries website was well set-out and user-friendly with family history resources grouped together for easy reference.
A popular site is Ancestry Library Edition which is available at no cost.
The spokesman said the morning was a great success with members of the group deciding to return each week to use the internet to research their family history.
