In u14s, the Kingaroy Red Ants were too strong overall for Wondai

August 25, 2012

The last round of fixtures in the 2012 South Burnett rugby league competition turned into a fizzer this weekend with no A Grade games played because of a string of forfeits.

At Cherbourg, Blackbutt forfeited its scheduled match against competition leaders, Cherbourg Hornets.

At Wondai, Kingaroy forfeited against the Wolves.

At Murgon, Murgon and Nanango were originally scheduled to face at each other, but both clubs finished their season early.

Players from the four teams in finals contention – Cherbourg, Kingaroy, Blackbutt and Wondai – were obviously saving themselves for next weekend’s Major Semi-Finals which will be played at Cherbourg.

All junior games, with the exception of the Cherbourg / Brumbies U16 match, went ahead as scheduled.
