The Wondai & District Brass Band will be hosting a visit to the South Burnett by the (BoB) Quintet – five of Australia’s leading brass musicians – later this month.
The quintet has been described as a “bold and brassy ensemble” and will perform an eclectic assortment of works for brass, ranging from modern pieces to the Renaissance.
BoB was founded in early 2008 with the aim of bringing the best of brass to audiences in Queensland, Australia, and around the world.
Its members have performed on every continent (except Antarctica), including many of the major concert stages.
BoB’s previous performances include appearances at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, University of Queensland, University of Southern Queensland, Tyalgum Festival of Music, Brisbane Music Festival and Queensland Band and Orchestra Clinic.
Last year they performed at the St Stephen Concert Series and Australian Society for Music Education Conference, and this year the band is collaborating with with Musica Viva, as well as touring regionally, interstate and internationally.
The Bob Quintet has been brought to the South Burnett by the South Burnett Regional Council’s RADF fund and will be performing one show only at the Wondai RSL Club from 2:00pm on Sunday, August 12.
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for concessions.
